Bio
Steve Alboucq Steve is a classically trained trumpet player with deep roots in Symphonic, Jazz, Pop and Latin music styles.
He received a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance from Washington State University where he was the principal trumpet in the WSU Symphonic Orchestra, Brass Ensemble, Wind Ensemble, and Jazz Ensemble.
He has performed as a freelance trumpet player with groups such as The Temptations, The Four Tops, Gladys Knight and the Pips, Seattle’s premier salsa band – Bochinche, The Northwest Symphony, the Kirkland Chanter Orchestra The Roadside Attraction Big Band, Jazz Police, Orquestra Nueva Era, Soul Provider, Freddie Pink and the Hightops, The Seattle Central Community College Jazz Band, among many others.
He is currently an active member and/or leader of several northwest musical groups including The Hal Sherman Monday Night Band, Brass Band Northwest, Ten String Jazz, and his own Jazz Quartet.
He studied with a variety of world-class teachers including: Arthur Statter, former New York based lead trumpet for several Broadway shows and former principal trumpet with the New York Ballet and NBC Symphony Orchestra; Gerald Webster, internationally known classical trumpet recording artist, educator and author; Gary Harding, internationally acclaimed Latin percussionist and ethnomusicologist.
Steve performs on a Monette Ajna Bb Trumpet, Conn Vintage One Flugel Horn, Bach Stradivarius C Trumpet, Schilke Cornet, and Schilke Piccolo Trumpet.
The Quartet
Chris Morton, Piano - website Chris Morton began studying piano at age 6 and formed his first jazz group while in his sophomore year at John F Kennedy High School. The Kennedy Traditional Jazz Band performed at many events including the West Seattle Dixieland Festival, Des Moines Water Land Festival, and several other yearly events throughout the greater Puget Sound region.
After high school, Chris studied jazz at Central Washington University and performed in the “Jazz One” band under the direction of Mr. John Mowad. Chris left Central in 1998 and continued on with his music education at Bellevue Community College. He played in the jazz band there under the direction of Mr. Hal Sherman. The BCC Jazz Band extensively traveled through Europe and Asia with musical tours to France, Germany, and China.
Mr. Morton has performed with various groups in the Seattle area including The Seattle Jazz Singers, Bellevue Community College Celebration, The Hal Sherman Monday Night Band, The Chris Morton Trio, The Joe Malone Sextet, The Neil Welch Quartet and many other great Seattle jazz groups. Chris has had multiple opportunities to perform at Tula’s, Jazz Bones, The Triple Door, Patti Summers, Jazz Alley and Benaroya Hall.

Nate Parker, Bass Nate is an exciting and creative young bass player who is poised to make a big name for himself in the Seattle area. A talented sideman and soloist, he is comfortable whether he laying down swinging bass lines, ripping some stong tumbao, or backing up sensous ballads.
